Quirks/Fun Facts: Doesn't currently know how to swim even though she loves playing in any body of water she comes across. Just only so long as her feet can touch the bottom.

More than anything Calypso seeks adventure. Nothing is too dangerous, no challenge too great, no feat too big. She eagerly purses risk and uncertainty. The more perilous the better. She eats her fears for breakfast and leaves weaker horses crying in her wake. Few who meet Calypso would describe her as delicate or feminine. In fact, most might call her “a terrifying tornado of reckless abandon.” She tends to stir up trouble and offend even the gentlest of horses whether she intends to or not.
[break][break]
Perhaps because of her gruff manner or blunt manner of speech. She often speaks her mind unwarranted and completely without tact. She can be very opinionated or judgemental and has been known to voice thoughts out loud without quite realising it. Due to her inability for discretion, she has trouble making friends. Her idea of a friend is someone she can trade bites or kicks with and shares an equally abysmal sense of humour.
[break][break]
Calypso is free spirited and baulks at the idea of settling down. That’s not to say she’s against being bound to a herd, but she rather hates the idea of not being allowed to come and go as she sees fit. She is very independent and self-reliant, struggling to trust anyone other than herself to watch her back. Because of this, and her previous life, she is notably quick-witted and resourceful in any situation. Particularly when backed into a corner. She has rarely come across a situation that she was unable to talk or fight her way out of. Or simply escaped through unusual means, such as using the environment around her to her advantage.
[break][break]
She is very impatient. Not at all willing to wait for things to come to her or work in her favour. She has a habit of speaking over others if she feels a conversation, or simply just they, are speaking too slowly. She might even simply just walk away with a flick of her tail and a roll of her eyes. She will make impulsive decisions and doesn’t stop to consider the consequences. “Cross that hurdle when it comes” sort of mindset regarding most things.
[break][break]
Calypso can be temperament if corrected or chastised about her behaviour. She also is quick to anger in regard to anything she perceives as judgement or negative attitude directed toward her. She is not shy to let anyone know exactly how much she won’t tolerate such “hate-speech.” If she does feel wronged, and she does, she has a vindictive streak as wide as the sea is vast. Ironically, her desire for revenge is perhaps the only instance when she does exhibit some patience. There is no limit to how far she will go, or how long she will wait, to exact the perfect revenge.
[break][break]
Unabashedly shameless she is not above using her feminine wiles to charm someone into satisfying her more primal urges. Even if the encounter is only to last for a moment. She also is rather forward when discussing her previous lovers or exploits and comes across almost as bragging about them. She rarely pauses to ask if such talk is even appropriate or wanted.

History
[attr="class","maintext"]
She was born the illegitimate daughter of the lead stallion to her herd. Her mother told her from a young age that her father had been nothing more than a passing stranger, but near the anniversary of her birth she learned the truth. The lead mare had discovered the truth and was quick to exact her revenge. Calypso was quickly thrust from her herd and left to her own devices in the wilderness. Fate smiled greatly upon her, as not long after she encountered a small bachelor herd. They readily accepted her into their midst once she had proven her worth.
[break][break]
She learned to wrestle and fight with the colts, slowly becoming able to hold her own against even the roughest of them. She picked up on their rough manner of speech and devil-may-care attitude when it came to others. None had any intentions of settling down, and so roaming the vast territories taking food from other herds as they pleased and generally causing mayhem wherever they went. At times they would even steal away young colts from the herds they passed.
[break][break]
Being the only female, she had, at one point or another, been intimate with a majority of the herd, but never committed. Eventually though, she did take a lover from within the herd. Such a decision spelled the end. Just a year later, he was dead, and she left the only real family she had ever known, finding her way to the islands to start anew.
