Welcome to Tempered Calamity! For as long as horses can remember, this place has been their santucary far removed from the presence of any humans. Well protected and abundant in food and space, equines of all kinds have called these lands home. Over time, the original horses who settled here spread out to explore and established the territory boundaries known today.
On the surface things appear peaceful between the different bands as well as the free roaming horses, but all is not as it seems. The inhabitants here are under constant threat. Not only do they have to survive the elements and natural disasters and outwit predators, they must also face rival herds or individuals looking to steal land or other horses.
Tempered Calamity is a semi-realistic wild horse rpg inspired by old school play by post forums. Low word count and minimal activity requirements, come check us out or say hey on our discord!

The Knoll

 The Knoll rises above the grasslands and is found more to the north of the territory. Bands of all kinds, the loners, and all who call themselves horses gather here for sacred rituals or festivals. The great courting that occurs every spring the most well known of all where horses can perhaps find another horse with which to bond for life. [/presto]

 Here the waters flow calmly, bringing life to the vast plain. Horses gather here to share a drink and companionship with a friend or partner and newcomers to the land often find themselves here as well. Herd leaders regularly frequent the area in search of new members or in search of potential alliances. [/presto]

The Great Expanse

 A vast grassland that seems largely unaffected by the changing seasons, horses of all kinds gather here for all sorts of reasons. Within the edges of the prairie, all are equal and must leave their disputes or prejudices behind. Some horses who remain unaffiliated with any of the major herds call this place home or form smaller bands, though not all free roaming bands are friendly. [/presto]
