Have you ever met an angsty teen? This is Banana. He's shy, quiet, and he doesn't quite fit in.
He's a little awkward with his fidgeting and constant moving of his ears and eyes and he looks super scared of everything. In reality, he is! He's a very nervous young guy, one would think he had had a traumatizing past. He's careful in what he does, every movement, every word, every breath seems calculated and thought out. The young stallion doesn't talk much at first, and many may walk away thinking he's a strange, crazy little guy. He doesn't go looking for others, but he doesn't try to avoid them either. He takes each day as it comes, some more scarier than the others but if he lives through it, he's content. Once you get to know him, he's almost normal. He tends to bond to one horse in particular and the rest are just fleeting acquaintances. This one horse who gains his loyalty will have a very willing,
very strong follower. He would never be the leader, having any authority placed in his hooves makes him anxious and he is prone to having panic attacks if he thinks he has any control over anything.

History
[attr="class","maintext"]
Banana was born to the king and queen of a herd from a far away land. He had been given the title Heir to the throne and on his fifth birthday, he'd receive the throne. It had been decided, just as his future mate had been decided, a stuck up filly from a neighboring herd. His fathers hopes would be an alliance of sorts and the army between them would be a stronger force, ready to tackle any challenge thrown at them. Banana, given such a silly name in his opinion, but his mother loved it, was only slightly against these ideas. But what could he say? No one would listen.
Banana was thrown into training the day that marked his month of being born. He was taught to be proper, polite, formal. He learned fast. His betrothed would often join him and his training, learning herself. Judging by how the other colts and even stallions, eyed her, she was a looker... Banana was never really interested in her. He honestly thought she was a horrible horse. She was rude and entitled. He was however interested in a fellow colt, he just had a better personality... So he learned he was into same gender as well.
As they grew older and hit the milestone of weaning, he and his betrothed were expected to be together and court. Banana tried, tried to please his parents. He didn't feel comfortable leading, it just wasn't him. He was able to sneak away every now and then during the night and meet up with the colt, who was not royalty at all. Training continued and no one knew of the forbidden romance budding between the two. Days went by, turned into months, which turned to years. Banana's second birthday was coming, and it was expected upon his birthday, they would announce the mating of the herds heirs.
Banana snuck out the night before his birthday to rendezvous with his boyfriend. Except he was caught. His father had come looking for him when he discovered he was not snuggled up in his sleeping quarters. His father was furious, and Banana's mother was drawn into it, who looked at him with disgust. The colt he had been in a hidden relationship with for almost two years was killed on site. Banana fought back to try to save him and his father turned to him. He was beat, almost to death, but his sire stopped himself. He had then been banished from the herd, for his type would not be tolerated. As he limped off, injured and hurting, the other members of the herd were commanded to kick and bite at him as he passed. And they listened. None held back. His betrothed was the worst, she flat out tackled him to the ground and spit in his face before grinding her hooves into his shoulder. Searing pain laced his body as he crawled out of the herds territory.
